Today has been good. I woke up at 7:30 to Gill singing the song I usually sing to her when I'm waking her up for school. I rolled over, grumbled something about cereal, and then smiled to myself as she cheerfully walked back out, poured herself some breakfast, and watched cartoons. Sweet Jeebus, this is a good age.

We took my grandmother out for drinks and hors d'oeuvres today ("we" being Mom, Amy, and I) at Jonathan Pasco's. It was great, given that I haven't spent any quality time with my grandma in way too long. She's funny and bright and strong-willed, and it's always a pleasure seeing her. Come to find out, she made Amy and I come Chex Mix. This is a Big Deal, to be explained some other time.

I'm painting boxes right now, in lieu of going to game. My folks were going to watch Gill tonight and tomorrow, and forgot that they had a Jack and Jill to go to. So, I'm home, and I'm making good use of my time. I added a deep and a shallow super to the more active hive, but couldn't find my smoker or my gloves, so I didn't bother pulling frames to the top (that would have led to a lot of activity and aggravation with my poor bees, and I opted for the slower, but safer, route.) They'll fill the supers a little slower to start with, because they don't smell like the rest of the hive yet, but that's OK.
I still need to get into the hive at some point and check for Queen Cells. I don't need to lose half of my hive to swarming, thanks anyway.

Long-ish, cut for those who don't care )

It was great seeing that [livejournal.com profile] oh_faerie_nuff made it today. I know it was questionable, and I was happy (both IC and OOC) to see her there.

Huge thank you's to [livejournal.com profile] mythicpoison and [livejournal.com profile] justonejawa for their hospitality (we joked that it's my first free weekend in a month, and I spent it chasing Michael-- I got to L5R after him, I got to the Campground after him, and I got to game today after him. Heh). I had a great time.

Big Thumbs Up to the Groton staff. I've been playing MET Vampire since 1993, and your game was one of my all-time favorites. Even down an ST, you did a great job. Kudos.

Now it's time to begin the unwinding process, hang with the Bean a bit, make some dinner (and by "make" I mean "order Chinese"), and get some much-needed sleep. I expect to wake up tomorrow with a Game Hangover. Would that be a Gameover? ;-)

One more thing, for the gamer crew:

I'm inheriting the Greater Hartford Mind's Eye Theater group at Saint Joseph College from Sarah M. SO, if you need a site, and would like to use St. Joe's, let me know. I'll have my people call their people, and then I'll call you.

Thank you.

For those of you who think that role-playing has never benefited anyone, and those of you who participate in groups that never do things like this...

Our LARP group (Changeling and others) raised $1,872 in one day for the Burma Campaign.

No pain, no tears or sold kidneys. 30+ of us sat around laughing, bulls#!%%ing, and playing games all day. So, it was an awesome time, I got to hang out with people I don't see nearly often enough, AND we raised money for a good cause. It is humbling to see what we can accomplish when we all chip in together. Nice job, folks!

I am officially stepping down as Giovanni ST for Boston by Night.

This month marks 2 fantastic years, and my players have been stellar. I mean it. It has been a pleasure getting to know you all as PCs, but more so as people. I've developed some tremendous friendships in the time I've been running, and I hope to continue them after I've stopped. Please know that it has been my greatest pleasure telling your stories. I'm just spent.

I have a final scene to run with Michael, which I will try to finish up before next Boston. If there is anything else that needs to be run with me between games, speak now or forever hold your peace.

For those who are not in my close personal loop, I have taken over for Brendan Ammerman (who did a kickass job) as East Coast Giovanni Subcoord.

If you're reading this and it makes no sense, ignore it. If you LARP in OWbN, it should make sense. ;-)

I seem to have lost the battle, but won the War.

Thanks again to Josh Wasta, if he's reading this. I look forward to great things in the genre this year.

OK, I know it's a little late in the game, but...

I've decided to throw my hat in the ring for the position of Giovanni Coord.

If anyone who runs/is a part of any other games in the Org would be willing to back my play, that would be spectacular. I hate pimping myself for things like this, so I'm not going on the spam campaign to a bunch of people I don't know. But I need someone with a louder voice in the Org to say, "Hey, she'll do a good job.", otherwise I don't stand a chance.

I am a bumbling a$$hole when it comes to web design.

That being said, I am in need of web pages for the UBS Shameless and for The Midnight Ride. I have had offers, and Seth has done some work on the Boston page, but I have nothing for the Shameless page and that needs fixin'. Can anyone help? Please?

I'd be willing to waive ship's dues for anyone willing (and able) to make a page in the next couple of months.

FOR MY PLAYERS

Tonight-

I would like to have dinner tonight around 6. If we do it at Angelino's (where we did the Gio Dinner at NEE), we can hop on 84 and get to New Britain in time to start game at 8. How does this sound to everyone else??

Call my cell with questions. If you don't have my number, ask someone who does.
