So, apparently I was supposed to go in for blood/ultrasound on FRIDAY. I called yesterday to schedule my appointment for today (based on where I am in my cycle), and was informed of my mistake. Meh. I suck. Hopefully it won't mess things up too badly. I'm also going to be late to work (I'm actually going to work!) today, due to my appointments.

In better news, I woke up this morning feeling a million times better than I have in days. I'm not healthy, mind you, but I'm definitely on the mend. Thank god, because I have a free weekend coming up, and I wouldn't miss it for the world.

I hope my friends in LJ-Land are having a healthy, happy day.

Today was a good day.

We slept until like 11am, Gill having been up at 9 but quietly having gone upstairs to watch cartoons and have breakfast. Sometimes, I really, really love that kid. OK, all the times. Breakfast intentions turned to brunch intentions, followed by heading out to Nomad's (indoor adventure place-- black-light mini-golf, video games, laser tag, duck-pin bowling, bounce-house, huge kids' jungle gym, and now bumper cars). We had a great time.

Afterward was another fruitless trip to Whole Foods in search of my now favorite tofu dish.

Tonight looks to be some Guitar Hero and hang out. And, of course, Changeling forums. ;-)

On a down note, I seem to have pharyngitis, laryngitis, and bronchitis. I started myself on some Robitussin DM, and I may pull out the nebulizer at some point. Sore throat, feels like I'm swallowing past a walnut, phlegmy gross cough... More than anything, I'm just tired. I'd like to be healthy now. Kthxbye.

Dad just got back from 12 days in California visiting his cousins. As always, he came back with a pile of stuff to give to the people back home (it's his way). Usually it's little tchotchkes and the like. He just popped in to see me, though, and threw something my way.

Oh yeah. A cute little pin-striped fedora. It even fits my little melon!

Today I went to the eye doc. My prescription has changed for the better, to the point where I don't even need to wear glasses unless I feel like it. My eyes have good days and bad days, though, so I'm going to get a pair for the new prescription and keep them around.

OK, this post has nothing to do with fascism. I'm just annoyed, and can't think of an adequate adjective to describe our country's floundering health care system.

My doctor made a referral to an awesome orthopedist. This orthopedist does not take my insurance. Come to find out, the only place I can go to is the UConn Health Center in Farmington. I called them, and they said they wouldn't schedule me until my records were faxed from my doctor's office... which I saw them doing when I left the office an hour earlier. They schedule in order of need. I have a feeling I'm gonna be dealing with this for another 6 months before I get to see someone.

Asshats.

The only good news is that my doctor said, "They're probably going to recommend surgery. FIGHT THEM. Exhaust all other possibilities before you go that route." I had already planned on doing so, but it's nice to be supported.
